Julius Shulman: Modernism Rediscovered

by Scott on January 9, 2008

Near the top of my “favorite photographers” list is Julius Shulman, whose body of work is probably the preeminent documentation of Modernism in Architecture. I don’t know how I missed it, but Taschen released a three-volume retrospective of Shulman’s work in October 2007. Julius Shulman, Modernism Rediscovered is personally curated by Benedikt Taschen and has 400+ photos in a beautiful, coffee-table-ish large format.

If you’re in LA anytime in January, be sure to check out Julius Shulman’s Los Angeles {EDIT} at the Getty Gallery at the Los Angeles Public Library.
